Grazie per aver ricordato uno dei più grandi poeti rock di tutti i tempi!
Quando Lennon (non a caso cresciuto in una città operaia come Liverpool) cantava questa canzone, auspicava che il potere andasse al popolo.
Nello stesso tempo chiedeva a tutti noi come trattassimo le nostre donne: forse vedeva già avanti, verso il maschilismo di ritorno...
La figura di Lennon andrebbe in ogni caso "salvata" da quella di una sorta di Gandhi pop-rock che voleva la pace... come se però non riflettesse per niente o di rado sulle condizioni ad essa relative.
Invece, Lennon voleva una pace che si fondasse sul SOCIALISMO (sia pure molto elastico) ed il suo pacifismo non era a priori.
Infatti, qualche anno fa, Fulvio Grimaldi pubblicò un articolo su "Liberazione" in cui parlava di un appoggio fornito da Lennon all'Ira...
Se ricordiamo la strage compiuta dalle truppe inglesi durante la "Bloody sunday", è difficile disapprovare l'azione del Nostro.
Grande anche la sua condanna del conformismo e di un uno stupido edonismo: nel singolo "Remember" egli attacca una società che fin da piccoli ci hanno insegnato a sognare sul modello dei divi del cinema.
E ci sarebbe molto altro da dire.
